Colne Horticultural Show 11 April 2015

This year marked the 100th Anniversary of Colne Horticultural Show which had strong support in the Daffodil Classes with 200 blooms staged.

The Daffodil Society Bronze Medal for Best Bloom in Show went to Tom Alty for ‘Cape Cornwall’. Tom went on to win the Daffodil Championship Trophy awarded for three vases, three blooms per vase, with two other ‘Cape Cornwall’, three ‘Bravoure’ and three ‘Menahay’.

The Samuel Twynham Memorial Trophy for six stems of daffodils staged in separate vases was awarded to Andrew Clark for ‘Hawera’, ‘Pink Silk’, ‘Midas Touch’, ‘Arkle’ , ‘Goldfinger’ and ‘Menahay’.

The award for Best Daffodil with Pink in the Cup was taken by Tom Alty with ‘Cherrygardens’, which also received a Diploma from Keith.

In the Committee Members Only Class, Eileen Windle was awarded first prize for ‘Kaydee’.
