The season in 2016 is a very early one. Last autumn was very mild and extremely wet in the North of England. As a result daffodil foliage emerged very early through the ground, in the plunge bed or in the cold alpine house.
Here are just a few un-cropped photographs from the last day of January or previously. Click on the photograph to expand it.
The first photograph of Narcissus assoanus was taken on 17 November 2015. I have never had this species in flower previously before the end of February
Thanks for the early update James. There are never two seasons the same and 2016 may well prove the point. Good luck to everyone for the season ahead and I look forward to seeing many of you at the AGM at Pilley.
Kind regards.
Rae.
You are way ahead of me, James! I wonder if it’s because I was later with my autumn watering last year?
What a lovely show and so early for the North of England.
Thanks for posting
