Hot on the heels of Leeds’ show the followig day is Wrenthorpe G C Show. Carefully transporting any particularly good flowers overnight to show them again at Wrenthorpe is usually possible, unfortunately in this much too warm spring, some didn’t make it. Nevertheless the daffodils were looking good, as were the rest of the show. The support that the members contribute, not just in exhibiting in all the various classes but the preparaion of the stands, refreshments and everything it takes to put on a successful show and achieve a full hall of visitors doesn’t hppen by acident. Peter Trickett, new broom chairman and his wife Judy put in a lot of effort, backed up by a wonderrful team of helpers. There are plenty of opportunities for anyone who wishes to exhibit, either in the open classes for members or generally. A general view of the show before the visitors arrive gives an idea of the entries in the various classes.
Just a note to exhibitors and organisers. As can be seen from the photograph of the 3 Division 11 flowers, exhibitors should try and ensure that their flowers do not stand above the back cloth of the staging. However the current staging back cloth is rather low and a further six inches of height would make a significant improvement.

Nice pictures James. It was a good show with numerous entries in most classes with some very nice quality exhibits staged. A credit to all the exhibitors for putting on a fine display of daffodils. The 1 division 3 ‘Perdredda’ is wrongly named. Although I staged it as Perdredda, when I got home and checked my list, I realised that it couldn’t be it as the colour was wrong. After contacting the supplier of the bulbs, It has been identified as ‘Baden Loch’. The division 1 ‘Ombersley’ isn’t my bloom, I believe it was staged by Alan Robinson. A very enjoyable day showing and also meeting and socialising with fellow enthusiasts.
