A new display for Autumn shows

The Northern Group of the Daffodil Society are currently preparing a new display which will used at Autumn horticultural shows. To be more accurate John Freer, with the help of a few of his friends is doing the preparation. The display will be first used at the Harrogate Autumn show from 16-18 September 2011.

If you can help in manning the stand at any time during these three days, would you please respond by adding a comment at the end of this news item.

The stand will be of two sections of three boards which, by using photographs, will show the RHS classification of daffodils. Live material in the form of seed pods, bulbs  and photographs will show the development of a flowering size bulb from the setting of the seed.

The photograph shows an in progress view of John with the initial mock-up of one of the three board sections.

    1. Chris can you set up a rota so that it is manned by people in short spells. I believe that you will get some tickets to distribute on each of the days.

  2. Great job John. Keep up the good work. I shall be there but will confirm later

  3. This is just to let members know that John’s stand display at the Autumn Harrogate Show has won a Gold Medal which is wonderful for the first attempt at the Autumn Show.
