The following remarks are from Bill Parrot a long time Northern Group member and exhibitor who in 2014 asked if we could supply display boards to assist in explaining what showing daffodils is all about at a new event.
Thank you very much for the loan of the boards. They raised a lot of interest at our daffodil show and it was a full time job explaining to visitors about the different flowers, divisions, and classifications. First time such an event has been staged in our area and although the majority of the varieties staged were not exhibition standard it has really raised peoples awareness to the different varieties that are available. We had 108 exhibits which I was pleased with considering the weather and the fact that we are a garden club and not a daffodil group.
The amount raised for the Marie Curie Cancer care was in the region of £600 so it made the event worthwhile.
