Haughton Green Gardening Society – 23 April

Info and photos by Chris Bone

Unfortunately due to the weather there were not many entries with 19 of the 35 classes with no entries at all.

There were two entries in the West Pennine Championship class which was won by Ken Harrop being on home soil. The winning enty was also judged the Best Exhibit in show and it also included the Best Bloom in show, ‘Moon Shadow’.

There were 2 diplomas given, one in class 12 with a good ‘Cape Cornwall, – very good colour – again put on by Ken and in class 6 for a vase of three ‘Alton Ha’ –  a bit down on size – exhibited by Trevor Myers.

I must mention the support of the other exhibitors being Alan Brierley and Tom Tinker.

Well done to Ken in his own society show and all the other shows throughout the season.
