Ramsbottom Horticultural Society 6 April 2014

The Ramsbottom Spring show was very well supported in all classes, and attracted a lot of visitors from the village. There was a beautiful display of alpine plants staged by the Alpine Society which added extra interest.
In the daffodil classes there were 94 exhibits, 205 blooms staged.
Tom Alty achieved Best Bloom with ‘Golden Joy’ from a set of three Division 2 daffodils for which he received a Daffodil Society Diploma from judge Chris Bone.
Tony Bracegirdle was awarded the Daffodil Society Bronze Medal for a spectacular arrangement of blooms in the basket class (see photo above) which was Best Exhibit in show. Tony also received a first for a Special Class with 3 blooms of ‘Pueblo’ and went on to gain Highest Points in Show.
Keith won the Master Class, three vases of three blooms, with ‘Banker’, ‘Clouded Yellow’ and ‘Chanson’.
Novice grower R.J. Turner also received a Diploma.
