The season in 2016 is a very early one. Last autumn was very mild and extremely wet in the North of England. As a result daffodil foliage emerged very early through the ground, in the plunge bed or in the cold alpine house.

The first photograph of Narcissus assoanus was taken on 17 November 2015. I have never had this species in flower previously before the end of February
