For the first time the Northern Group has put on a Daffodil Society stand at the Holker Garden Festival set in the grounds of Holker Hall in Cark-in-
Congratulations to John Freer, who created the display, and Chris Bone who made the two and a half hour drive to erect the stand which gained a silver gilt award.
A few cut flowers were still available which were enhanced by two pots of tazettas which had been grown for our display at the Great Yorkshire Show in July but which had flowered too early.
Thanks to all who were involved with the stand at Holker Hall.
Although I get the boards ready its the unsung workers who deserve the credit Paul Payne for his photos James & Wendy for the use of their dining room table the fetching & carrying & manning the stand Chris for his time running all over to set up & man the stand when he can

So sorry for the delay in sending my comments but once again holidays got in the way. Holker Hall is a very nice country show steeped in the traditions of Cumbria. The Cavendish family put in a huge amount of effort to ensure that their show is just a little bit special . This year Lucy Cavendish has taken on the lead roll and is doing a wonderful job . There were some very good Society Exhibits and the stand constructed by our team did us proud. Next stop will be The Great Yorkshire Show and i look forward to seeing some of you there.
